Anne York
Anne York joined SEI in 2008 with four years of experience in the business and public policy sectors.
At SEI, Anne leads key stakeholder interviews, writes research briefs and project evaluation reports, and conducts research on behalf of the First 5 Association of California’s Northwest Region. She gathers census and demographic information, determines child care inventory, and facilitates meetings and dialogue for the Lighthouse of the Sierra-Step 2 Child Care Feasibility Study.
In addition, she provides project support, meeting facilitation, and development of the quarterly progress reports for the Nevada Public Education Foundation’s “Ready for Life” initiative. She gives ongoing preparation, attendance, and documentation of Steering Committee meetings for the Rural Nevada Continuum of Care.
Anne has also worked with First 5 El Dorado Children and Families Commission as part of the evaluation team, conducting stakeholder interviews, reviewing assessment data, completing a data inventory map, and providing research support on briefs, data collection tools, and the annual report.
Prior to working with SEI, Anne worked as a research assistant and regional director for Pearson Public Affairs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She worked on policy reform, by researching and developing programs such as Family Rights, Medicare Reform, and Asbestos Reform. Anne launched partner organizations and conducted educational events for Medicare Part D implementation as regional director.
She also worked as senior writer and editor for the Sam Adams Alliance and Foundation in Chicago, IL, acted as assistant to the dean of Waldron School District where she provided educational opportunities through home visits and tutoring to at-risk youth, and held an internship through Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma serving eight counties.
Anne holds two bachelor’s degrees in history and political science with a minor in Spanish from Hillsdale College, in Michigan, where she was awarded with the four-year, Hillsdale tradition award for scholastic achievement.
