Sarah Boxx
Sarah Boxx came to SEI in 2000, and has over 27 years of professional experience working in the corporate and nonprofit sectors, where she has served as a board member, executive director, and client services volunteer.
At SEI, she provides services and manages consulting projects for a broad range of public and private agencies. She has assisted organizations that include County Children and Families Commissions in 16 different California counties, Local Child Care Planning Councils in nine different California counties, Region 9 Head Start Association, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Fund for a Healthy Nevada, United Cerebral Palsy of San Joaquin, Parasol Community Foundation, Nevada Bicycle Advisory Board, Washoe County Ready For Life initiative, Tahoe Rim Trail Association, the California Alliance of Information and Referral Services, and dozens of other organizations.
Sarah offers outstanding expertise in strategic planning for all types of situations, from community-based organizations to county or statewide service delivery systems, business planning, assessment of community assets and needs, group facilitation and mediation, organizational assessment, board development, organizational development, program evaluation, program management, and information systems selection and implementation.
Prior to joining SEI, Sarah was the Executive Director of the Children’s Cabinet, Inc., a Reno-based nonprofit organization serving children and families throughout Nevada. During her tenure, the Children’s Cabinet grew from a staff of 18 with a budget of $3.5 million dollars to a staff of more than 35 and a budget of $11 million dollars. She has also served as the Executive Director of other community-based nonprofit organizations.
Sarah also served as a consultant and trainer for the National Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and was directly involved in the development of multidisciplinary strategic plans designed to address and respond to the needs of missing, abducted and exploited children for 17 national sites. In 1997 she was awarded the National Governance Association’s Award for Distinguished Service to Government.
She has a master’s degree in pastoral counseling from St. John’s University in Springfield, LA.
