Sarah Marschall

sarah-iiSarah Marschall came to SEI in 2005, and has over seven years of experience in research and consulting together with a 14-year record of volunteerism.

At SEI, she provides research and consulting services to numerous organizations and agencies, and develops state, county, local, and program assessments throughout Nevada and California.

Recent examples include a statewide civil legal needs assessment for the Nevada Access to Justice Commission, county-wide assessments to support the Washoe County Senior Services 10-Year Plan, the Washoe County Ready for Life® Strategic Plan, Calaveras County Behavioral Health Community Service and Supports Plan, and several First 5 Children and Families Commissions in California including those in Lassen, Glenn and Alameda Counties. Sarah led an assessment of housing conditions for the City of West Sacramento and has assisted in program and system evaluation for clients such as the Lassen County Children and Families Commission, Contra Costa Children and Families Commission, and El Dorado County Children and Families Commission.

Sarah has helped several other organizations with research-based projects, including the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency, Head Start of Northeastern Nevada, Churchill County Community Response Teams and Children and Families Commissions in California’s Northwest Region.

She has co-facilitated the development of several strategic plans, including the Mountain Oaks Charter School, Washoe County Ready for Life® Strategic Plan (Nevada Public Education Foundation), and helped to facilitate the Nevada Oral Health Summit.

In her role at SEI, Sarah’s expertise in primary and secondary research includes designing and distributing surveys, facilitating interviews and focus groups, analyzing demographic trends, and geo-social mapping using GIS (geographic information systems).

Sarah has served as a CASA-court appointed special advocate for children with the Washoe County Family Court-for six years. She is also currently a member of the parent action board (PAB) at Western Nevada Community College Child Development Center.

Sarah graduated from Willamette University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a minor in biology, and then obtained a Master of Science degree at the University of Nevada, Reno in the environmental science program.
