Planning. We can provide expert guidance for all types of planning needs, from planning new programs within a single agency to planning for statewide systems of services. Our planning services include long-range strategic planning, assessment of community assets and needs, operational (business) planning, shorter-range implementation planning, program/service planning, and fund distribution planning for public agencies and foundation. In all cases, we can organize and facilitate a comprehensive planning process or assist you with specific activities within a larger planning process.
Sustainability. For health and human services, sustainability is the ability to create lasting improvements in health and well-being for an extended period of time despite ongoing changes in funding sources, program models, community demographics and other factors. Our sustainability services use a uniquely holistic approach to address all of the factors shown by research to lead to long-term stability and success in maintaining important community outcomes.
Strategic alliances. We have assisted numerous communities with creating or strengthening multi-agency collaborations in order to coordinate services and resources, achieving greater impact for populations served and the participating organizations. We can also support more in-depth strategic alliances such as joint ventures and mergers between organizations.
Governance. Effective governance by nonprofit boards and public boards, councils and commissions is vital to the success of organizations that serve the greater public good. We can enhance the effectiveness of governing bodies in many ways, including assessment of current functioning, training, team building and optimized board design, bylaws and other operating guidelines.
Facilitation. Our consultants are trained in numerous facilitation methods and can prepare and facilitate engaging and highly productive meetings, retreats, focus groups, community forums and other events with any type and size of group.
Capacity building. Strengthening the internal capacity of organizations is a cornerstone of our work. We offer a comprehensive research-based organizational assessment process that provides the best roadmap for systematic organizational development available anywhere. We can also provide the training, tools, guidelines and other infrastructure needed for optimal performance in any organizational area such as service delivery, revenue generation, financial management, human resources, and marketing and communications. Other capacity building services include information systems selection and implementation support, project management, and coordination of technical assistance activities across many organizations in a geographic area. For foundations and public entities that issue grants to other organizations, we can help align grantmaking activities with strategic objectives and optimize grantmaking processes.
Evaluation. We deliver practical, meaningful and yet cost-effective solutions to evaluating the impact that nonprofit organizations, public agencies and foundations are having on the populations they serve. Our services include thorough assessment of existing evaluation systems and assistance to enhance those systems where appropriate, evaluation design, and complete implementation of evaluation models ranging from focused single-program evaluations to complex multi-year, multi-program and multi-entity evaluations.
Operational support. We can serve as an extension of our client’s staff or as contract staff to provide ongoing operational support over a period of time or targeted support to handle special situations such as planning and management of conferences and other major events.
